Quote Life, Quote Being

It doesn’t really matter what other people say or think about you. Go ahead and do what you know is best. The disappointments of the past are no big deal, and your fears of the future exist only in your imagination. Step forward and do what you know you must do – Ralph Marston

Screaming simplicity and finding their high-pitched way into tough-times-not-gonna-last-for-long mind mode, which I was in desperate need of.

Thank you Akbar Shariff.

The Michael Jackson Generation

An era. A time capsule. A generation, triggered. Oblivion is beyond the limits of possibility.

Growing up is such a bitch, true that.

S quips!

Location: Adsetts

Activity: To get done with the pending assignments.

Evident Activity: Facebook harassing, photo whoring and deranged laughing!

S and her talented levels of description!

S: K, can I have some water?

K: Sure you can! (Hands out a green bottle of water)

S: *After a gulp* What is thissss?!

K: It’s sparkling water S!

S: God! It’s like punishment!

After a certifiable amount of time and one among the multitude of random conversations we had.

Me: I don’t drink right? (I know, inanity becomes me)

S: Of course you don’t! Why?

Me: I drink VK, does that count?

S: Are you f*ing kidding me?! That’s juice!!!

Well, that does it for my assignments and my almost non-existent resolve! 🙂

16 at 60. I mean, HOW?!! Everything fails when it comes to describing the Superstar fever that’s gripped every soul possible. A phenomenon in the truest sense, Rajinikanth, from splitting a bullet into two with another bullet, lighting a matchstick with his mere gaze and making a knife rotate 360 degrees in thin air for five mins flat, we’ve seen it all and yet, instead of detesting them as acts that would make Einstein roll in his grave we’ve chosen to embrace the fact that only Rajinikanth can perform such deeds and still manage to leave people agog with its sheer awesome-ness! Endhiran (swoons!) was no different at all! This movie, I can state, is nothing short of resplendent. This movie arrived and HOW! I remember seeing someone on TV tonsure his head and dedicate his hair in true Thirupathi manner to the idol he venerated , Rajinikanth. And another person fasting for days together to make sure his Thalaivar’s movie is a massive hit. Only him I tell you, only him!

So, here I was sitting at home the day before its release thinking about how I’m going get the first day tickets because I already had tickets for tuesday and it was a conscious decision to leave the first three days for the frenzied fanatics of Rajini land thinking it was gonna be the same as the good ol’ Baasha days when a girl couldn’t possibly make it in one piece if she was anywhere near the FDFS celebrating theaters. And now I get to hear about a parallel world in Chennai, with girls throwing paper bits sitting in the first three rows and the boys wondering if they should do something to save their grace. Sigh* Times I say! 🙂 ( How easily I can detract from where I was! Gah!) So, 12:30 am, thinking about all the people who annoyed me with FDFS tickets, there I was putting trashy plans with Eli (My vertically/horizontally challenged fun movie lover friend) with sincere effort. And finally, we got tickets at PVR first day! Yaey! 😀 It’s onlyyyy thanks to VK and TS (our Chinmaya cronies) who got us in and HOW! 😀 ( I am aware I am using too many ‘HOWS!’ at the moment but it’s all because of the outright brilliance of that day! -> So, wth!) We even got better seats, thanks muchos to VK 🙂 And it began, the movie, I really am lost as to where to begin, I was hoping for the usual massive five-minutes-into-the-movie intro and the Annamalai ‘SUPERSTAR RAJINI’ BGM and was pleasantly surprised to hear a techno jazz type-ish BGM and see him in the very first scene on screen! It’ll take some time getting used to changes like these. The songs (especially ‘Irumbile Oru Idhaiyam’ and ‘Kaadhal Anukal’), the train fight, ‘Who is that Chellaatha?’, the dance showcase, 35 going on 25 Ash, abused Merc, the return of Alex Pandiyan Rajini and of course ‘Who is the black sheep?’ Meehhh! (Slam you villains!) were what that ran through my mind loopless. It was on par with any techy hollywood movie that you’ve come across. So, with Shankar at the helm, Ash sharing screen space, ARR’s tunes, Pookuty’s design sound and all the high funda firangi technicians, at the end it’s Rajini being the exhaustive genius that he is, who makes it colossally epic.

As he popularly quotes in Padayappa, ‘..indha thani aalukaaga uyire kuduka ethana aalunga irukaangannu konjam etttti paaru’, sure enough he’s leading the way with the rest of the world behind him. A manifestation of dynamism and an establishment of legendary charisma, a true SUPERSTAR he will forever be! 🙂

Hiatus Broken

Almost four months. That is exactly the thing a blogger should not follow. Its not like my blog pulls in rapt traffic but solely for me to improve my writing/communication skills which is slowly beginning to attain super reek stage and to write stuff the way I want to and the way my eyes see it. I honestly do not know what to write at the moment that can spell sense in some way but I just wanted to make sure I write something which takes off from where I left on March 14. So much has happened and I’ll make sure every detail is covered in the bestest mode possible. Officially, I’m in blog-louve now, every second relished! 😀

Economics Simplified

International economics classified with cows and milk.Interesting read.

Court:Mala Raj

You have two cows.
Your neighbor has none.
You feel guilty for being successful.

You have two cows.
Your neighbor has none.

You have two cows.
The government takes one and
gives it to your neighbor.
You form a cooperative to tell
him how to manage his cow.

You have two cows.
The government seizes both and
provides you with milk.
You wait in line for hours to get it.
It is expensive and sour.

You have two cows.
You sell one, buy a bull, and
build a herd of cows.

January 2008-The month that was

The new year started off on a rough note with reasons better untold but otherwise the first month of 2008 was pretty much averagish. Equally eventful as it was surprising.

Fourth sem began with a bang on Jan 2nd what with all of us meeting up after almost a month.Needless to say on the very first day our enthu pattani profs made it a point to feed us with something they call basics of their subject which ultimately resulted in us throwing up inside our mouths. Adding to the dismay were our subjects, dehydrated like super-special-sun-licked dry tasteless tomatoes.Just when I thought it couldn’t get more nauseating *puffffff* there appeared our NM prof, after a long list of ma’dame’ profs, a man(finally!)  with uber sexy mane when straightened would reach halfway down his hip.

So,one random NM class:

Prof:Ahh you at the back side there…

Unaware he’s pointing at me I stare at him blank as the green board behind him.

Prof:You girl, get up,say me the answer for the ‘eijen’ value.

Me:(Nudging VV sitting next to me to help me out who apparently also had no idea what the guy was asking about) Sir,too many values here, which one do you want sir?(obviously a little less loud and then mumbling with an answer after which I was reluctantly asked to sit down)

So ultimately it was then that we realised that this prof was our ‘Dodging and Ducking’ sir of the fourth sem.

A few days later, random lab session:

It was just a record note that I had in hand which I didn’t know we weren’t supposed to bring that day.

Our incharge prof:(Sore from the start and super annoyed when I made my entry) Why are you behaving like anything ma?

Me:*I just died then*

Random lab session II:

SR’s copyright knock-knock joke.

VM:Who’s there?

SR:You know

VM:You know who?

VM:*I so did! the second time ’round!*

Classes aside,my bday arrived a few days later.I was not all that excited about my last-teen-year bday, man growing old can be a b*tch sometimes. But hey, surprises have their own blissful language. So SR bought a huge delicious vanilla cake for my bday which was, thanks to my friends, also used as a facepack for ten mins!

Birthdays,treats,4th sem,Saarang(which I happened to attend the last day to witness our coll’ s short film ‘Murphy’s Law’ starring our 8th sem stud boys),Choreo Nite(my first pro-show event attended at Saarang),NSS camp at Ayakulathur,Rotaract camp at a public school in Porur, odd sem results(one big comedy show!),eleven restaurants experimented(good food-happy yappy camper!),fab six yards of pure magic(my first special family wedding sari),my new room and *DOUBLE YAY!!!* for the blastoff of SPLASH PORTAL!

January 2008 has been a month of sorts for me,special and exceptional in more ways than one and may February comprise of an extra dose of fun-extreme!

So here goes for the amethyst month…KICKASS!!! 😀
